In it's original sense it has to do with a brand name becoming the name for the thing it is... like Kleenex or a Styrofoam cup. It can also be an ad slogan that takes on life of it's own like that old one, 'where's the beef?' For blogging it's a way to increase traffic... sort of viral advertising for blogs. Thanks Kenny.
