The herb fair takes place on Friday May 8th and Saturday May 9th, [...]

Herb & Garden Faire 2008

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

It’s that time again, and if you live anywhere near the Central Pennsylvania area it maybe worthwhile to take a ride over to Lancaster, PA this weekend for the annual Herb & Garden Faire at the Landis Valley Museum. This has become my favorite spring gardening event because there is always a great turnout of terrific vendors offering all sorts of interesting plants, seeds, crafts, and gardening accessories for sale.

Garden Shows Arrive; Can Spring Be Far Behind?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

It may be difficult to believe but springtime and a new growing season are just around the corner and a sure sign of that is the arrival of the various local garden shows and expos! If you need a break from all of the snow and cold that is probably still lingering outside your door, then a trip to explore the exhibits, workshops, and lectures at your own nearby garden expo may be the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon.

PASA Farming Conference & BYFG Gardening Workshop

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

A couple of terrific agriculture/gardening events are scheduled for this week in the Central Pennsylvania Region. Both gatherings will offer plenty of information and dialogue that will be of interest to all backyard vegetable, fruit, and herb growers.

2007 Herb & Garden Faire

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

For all the local gardeners and those that are close enough to Central Pennsylvania to take a nice day trip, I just wanted to provide a little advance notice of the upcoming Landis Valley Museum Herb & Garden Faire that will be held near Lancaster, PA next week.

Seed Planting Workshop

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

The Broad Street Market in downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania hosted a free seed planting workshop over the weekend. The event was sponsored by the Tri-County Opportunities Industrial Center, the Dauphin County Master Gardeners, and the Broad Street Market.

PA Herb Festival 2007

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

There’s another gardening show on tap this weekend in the Central Pennsylvania area. This time it’s the 9th Annual PA Herb Festival. The fest begins on Friday and is being held at the York Expo Center. The thing that I like best about the gardening shows that are scheduled in late spring is that you can purchase plants, herbs, and seeds and usually the weather has settled enough to begin planting them right out into the garden.
